Certificate II in Electro-technology (Career Start) can be studied as a stand-alone Vocational Education and Training subject or as part of a school-based apprenticeship.

Certificate II in Electro-technology (Career Start)
Certificate II in Electro-technology (Career Start) is a pathway to an apprenticeship in the electrical trades while earning up to 50 credits towards Stage 1 of the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).
On completion, students are awarded a nationally recognised pre-apprenticeship qualification.
In this hands-on students spend one day a week preparing for employment by learning work-specific skills in a simulated work environment that meets the needs of the electrical industry.
It’s also highly recommended that Students also spend 70 hours in a workplace undertaking Structured Workplace Learning to gain on-the-job training and mentoring while developing their technical skills and becoming more employable.

- HLTAID001 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- UETTDRRF06 – Perform rescue from a live LV panel
- UEECD0007 – Apply WH & S regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
- CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
- UEECD0038 – Provide solutions and report on routine electrotechnology problems
- UEECD0019 – Fabricate, assemble & dismantle utilities industry components
- UEECD0033 – Produce products for carrying out energy sector work activities
- UEECD0020 – Fix & secure electrotechnology equipment
- UEEECD0009 – Carry out routine work activities in an energy sector environment
- UEECD0046 – Solve problems in single path circuits
- UEERRE0021 – Provide basic sustainable energy solutions for energy reduction in residential premises
- UEERL0001 – Attach cords & plugs to electrical equipment for connection to a single phase 230-volt supply
- UEECD0021 – Identify & select components, accessories and materials for energy sector work activities
- UEECDOO52 – Use routine equipment/plant/ technologies in an energy sector environment
