Career Guidance

Career guidance helps students identify strengths and navigate suitable career pathways.

In Year 10, students completing their Personal Learning Program (PLP) as part of their South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) begin to learn about career options, analyse their learning styles and begin career testing, to see which careers they may be most interested in and suited to. This helps them determine what subjects to study as part of their SACE in Year 11 and Year 12 and prepare them for life beyond school.

In Years 11 and 12, students undertaking or VET course can study Workplace Practices, which extends on from the PLP and helps students develop knowledge, skills, and understanding of the nature, type and structure of the workplace. They also learn about the value of volunteer work, future trends in the world of work, workers' rights and responsibilities and career planning.

St Paul's Career Counsellor, Jo Williams, is available for individual appointments with students and parents to discuss study and career options and find information on trades, work options or tertiary studies.

Appointments may be made by contacting the House Class teacher or the front office.
