Welcome back to our returning students and a warm welcome to all our new students. This year is the year of living justly so hopefully we will join together and make a positive difference in our local and global communities. In the Hebrew Scriptures in the words of the Prophet Micah we are called to 'act justly, love mercy and walk humbly'; quite a challenge but one I hope we are all ready to take on board.
A part of living justly is caring about what is happening in our world. As such, may we all remember the victims and families of the Bourke St Mall tragedy in Melbourne. May the families of all affected find strength and may the souls of the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. It is a stark reminder to us about the fragility of life and how it is to be treasured.
