Car Parking and Traffic Flow
Written on the 2 February 2017 by Mr Neville Atkinson
In the second half of 2016, the College contracted the services of a traffic management consultant to review our car parking and traffic flow. The review highlighted a number of issues (most of which are common to the majority of schools) but also gave us some staged solutions to enable us to improve traffic movements for parents. A number of the recommendations will require significant funds to implement, with money to be set aside in future budgets.
The first stage will be to open the Grand Junction Road gates near the Paul's Drive traffic lights to exiting traffic only. This will enable cars to directly access Grand Junction Road and not have to exit via gates on Blacks Road. It is important to note that it will be illegal to enter the College via the Grand Junction Road gates. In opening these gates, it is important that all motorists travel at no faster than walking speed as children will also be using the gates to exit the College.
Your patience is appreciated to ensure a smooth implementation that will benefit all carpark users.
