Students undertake work placements as part of a workplace learning program. 

Workplace learning is a component of all Training Guarantee for SACE Students (TGSS) Certificate Level Vocational Education and Training where students can complete 140 hours of work placement as part of their training. 

Workplace learning typically involves an agreement between the school and a local employer to train a student during a work placement for the purpose of attaining skills required for accreditation, with no commitment of future employment or pay for the students. It should be noted however, that most apprenticeships are gained as a result of undertaking workplace learning.

Placements can be one week blocks over the school holidays as negotiated with host employer.

Students are encouraged to demonstrate initiative in finding their own employers to undertake workplace learning. For assistance, please contact your school's VET Coordinator.
