Student Showcase

St Paul 's College Senior School includes all students from Years 10-12.

The Head of Senior School is Mr Damian Antenucci.

Philosophy

In Year 10, boys make the transition from Middle School to Senior School. By Year 10, students are expected to:

> exercise more responsibility for their school work and program of studies
> understand the consequences of their actions and choices
> recognise the importance of celebrating their achievements.

St Paul 's learning programs and teachers strive to continue to build on students' leadership skills, with a sustained emphasis on compassion.

Structure and support

Year 10 students are aligned to House Groups (Dally, O'Loughlin, Gleeson and Marlow)
for their learning, which is structured to prepare them for their South Australian
Certificate of Education (SACE).
St Paul's students study a combination of compulsory
or core subjects, plus up to 8 elective subjects, which are grouped according to
student choice.

In Years 11 and 12, students have access to a broad subject choice through their
SACE
.

Extensive counselling is offered from Year 10 to inform students and their parents
about the SACE, with Senior School staff participating in this process. Counselling
occurs on a regular basis to assist boys and their parents with choices and decisions about future pathways.

Adaptive Education programs continue to support and extend students through their senior years.

Curriculum

St Paul 's offer a broad curriculum in senior years. Boys have the opportunity to
acquire expertise across a wide variety of subject areas, including school-based apprenticeships.

Co-curricular

Students can become involved in a wide range of co-curricular activities at St Paul 's College. The program provides opportunities for staff, students, parents and old
scholars to interact positively, creating a strong College community and building team spirit.

In Terms 1 and 4, students can choose from a range of summer sports in which to compete, for example, cricket, tennis, badminton, swimming, volleyball and athletics.

In Terms 2 and 3, boys can compete in football, soccer, basketball, table tennis,
squash and cross country running. St Paul 's is well known for our strong sporting tradition, with many students going on to play professional sport. Read about our
Success Stories here.

St Paul 's also offers a range of non-sporting activities including:

> Annual Musical (PDF 118KB), held in conjunction with Kildare College
> School Band
> School Annual
> Media Club

Students are encouraged to participate in at least one co-curricular activity each semester.

Student Showcase

Teachers approach literacy in innovative ways, by incorporating the use of technology
as a story-telling medium.

Ms Gemma Pannell worked with her Year 10 English as a Second Language class - some students of which are refuguees - using PhotoStory to tell their life stories.

You can watch Mohammad's story about his life in Afghanistan here (WMV 1M) .

Child soldiers was the subject of Ayom's story, and it can be watched here (WMV 2M). You can read the script that goes with this presentation here (PDF 28KB).
